I have a “Collin” who is on a diet, too. We do the Feingold Diet for a Salicylate-Intolerance.

Hope the cupcake didn’t cause too many symptoms!

Dr. Seuss is classic, i forgot how much that guy packed into such simple storylines… they didn’t add much to the original story either except for the usual Jim Carreyisms.

Thank You. The kids really made it easy for us. We wrote a letter to the teachers and talked about how great the kids are. They agreed and said it helped that Collin was so great too. It was a good day. Not all of them are!

Wonderful! I love to hear such positive stories from other parents. Our school probably will never do such a thing, but it is fantastic – and good for you in coming up with different samples. I don’t know if I could have gotten through it without crying (I feel like I am in mourning every day – even 5 years after his first diangosis!!!). Good for you!

Do you have any tips on how to teach computer skills?

Personally, I think the first thing is to find websites they really want to play with and go from there.

Rachel is just now getting the computer too. It was good timing because she has a research type project in school this year (she is in 3rd grade). For quite a while she would get sooo frustrated with it. She adores those two websites too. They are great for the beginning computer learner.

I am a mother of a 5 year old with autism. On this blog I will share the day to day challenges and successes our family experiences in hopes to help other families. I know that when our son was diagnosed, I really wanted to know someone out there who was experiencing the same things we were, as our friends and family were not. I wanted to know about the children who were doing well and beating this disorder. We are a family that is overcoming autism and I want to share with everyone what we are doing to win.
